GenoGold is the sole owner of the search facilities and information as formatted and made searchable on this Web site.

Contributors of data for use on the site remain the owners of the data in their own submitted format, consenting for GenoGold to re-engineer it for GenoGold database access by the public or by members via the web.

We only gather information we need to serve you better. It is necessary to protect GenoGold's rights and that of its contributors of data, we make every effort to disable opportunists from being able to take large pieces of formatted data from the site. Any use made of information gained by using this site should be for personal and private research only. No use of our data, or that of our contributor’s should be made for commercial endeavours.

Links provided to other websites mean the data within those linked websites remains the copyright of those site owners, GenoGold merely provides a helpful link to it but has no ownership nor copyright of that information within a linked external site, nor do we have any control or liability for information contained within an external site.

No data appears on GenoGold relating to any persons living. Any data submitted to the site for inclusion should not contain references to any living person.

The Crown waives its copyright in the contents of unpublished public records that are made available to the public. GenoGold and its contributors are therefore free to index, transcribe and publish such Crown copyright material. The National Archives have custody of the original census documents in the UK (TNA PRO) and we thank them for their assistance and guidance  in making the census information on this site available.

Where references are made to entries from published texts, all efforts have been made to obtain permissions from authors, printers and publishers, to date. GenoGold does not copy blocks of text from any published document. We would be grateful to hear from any unacknowledged copyright holders which we may have ommitted in our searches, it is our intention to fully credit all parties and make every effort to obtain permissions where needed.

Where excerpts from parish records have been contributed, guidance has been taken from Records Offices and where GenoGold does not wish to infringe potential parish information rights still held by clergy, a restriction on access to the records has been made, avoiding opportunists being able to reconstruct the whole sequence of any parts of a register.We would be grateful to hear from any unacknowledged copyright holders which we may have ommitted in our searches, it is our intention to fully credit all parties and make every effort to obtain permissions where needed.

All data available in the GenoGold databases is submitted by contributors in good faith, transcription errors may occur so please do cross check all vital data you need for your research.
